New Storage Limits between Drive and Gmail

Your UCSC Google account now has 30 GB of unified storage to use as you like between Drive and Gmail. Just as before, files created in Docs, Sheets and Slides don't count against your storage quota. Storage will also be shared with photos you upload to Google+ larger than 2048px.

With this new combined storage, you can use your storage how you need to. Gmail inboxes are no longer limited to 25 GB -- if you're only using a few gigabytes of email storage, you now have a lot more extra storage for large documents and files stored in Google Drive.

To view how much storage you are currently using between Drive and Gmail, (and to purchase more storage) go to your Gmail inbox, scroll to the bottom of the page, and located on the left side is the number and percentage of GBs you are using. Click the 'Manage' link to go to your storage page.

Simply hover over the pie chart to see a breakdown of your storage use across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google+ Photos.

If 30 GB is not enough storage, Google provides you the option to purchase additional storage for your UCSC Google account. Please note that this purchase is not covered under the UC agreement with Google.
